Workshop: Inclusive Research in a Diverse World
Time & Location
About the Event
During the session, FLF participants will explore the history of inclusion and diversity and look at the factual reality for diverse groups today – in Britain and around the world. Participants will expand their knowledge on topics such as race & ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, mental and physical disability and social mobility. They will also explore the lived experience of individuals in these groups and why it might matter in research. Whilst the session will be fact-led it will also include time for participants to understand their personal comfort level in addressing the diverse needs of others. After the fast-paced look at what it’s like to ‘be different’, participants will identify areas where they may want to engage further, build on their journey of putting inclusive research into practice, explore what’s working well, and where they may have further to go.
The session will include a lunch break and time for FLFs to review their own research
The session will be run by Suzy Levy who is a highly experienced facilitator and Managing Director of The Red Plate ; a company that specialises in creating and delivering bespoke professional training, focus groups and events related to equality, diversity and inclusion, mental health and workplace culture.
