About the Event

We are so pleased to announce the first FLF Development Network Research Encounters event on 11-12 March 2021.

The ambition of the Research Encounters series, which will take place across the lifespan of the Development Network, is to support you in getting to know the wider FLF community, hear from inspirational thinkers in a broad range of fields, build connections and new networks, and gather tools and techniques to assist you in your work. The theme of this first event will be ’Navigating Uncertainty’ — with the intention of helping you continue to enhance your own leadership effectiveness during times of instability and rapid change.

Our keynote speakers will be Sir Jeremy Farrar, Director of the Wellcome Trust and member of the Government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies; Professor Kim Graham, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation & Enterprise), Cardiff University; and Professor Julian Chauhuri, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education & Student Experience), University of Plymouth.

The timetable has been designed with an opt-in, opt-out structure, allowing for maximum flexibility and plenty of downtime so that you can attend to other things between sessions. You decide how you want to experience the event.

This Research Encounter serves as a launchpad for the remainder of the series over the next three years. The event will give you a taste of the kinds of speaker whom we can bring to you and the opportunities for collaboration which the Network has been designed to facilitate. You’ll also have a chance to learn more about a number of exciting prospects coming to the Network this year, including 360 feedback and coaching, mentoring, and a new call for you to apply for your own £300k 'Plus Funds’.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch. Otherwise, please make a note in your diaries and keep an eye on this page as more information is added!
